Words from families we’ve walked beside.

For over three decades the Alison Lawson Technique has helped children and adults discover what learning can feel like when the underlying visual patterns are addressed. These are some of their stories in their own words.

I noticed a change in the way he was completing the homework and in his whole attitude towards it.

An incredible change in confidence and attitude. He wanted to complete tasks because his vision is now corrected.

“I have actually taken up reading as a hobby.”

Thank you for the last 10 weeks. Not only for providing me with the treatment, but also for taking the time to explain everything to me as we went along. I found it really helpful understanding what I was working on and why. Even when completing the homework, it helped knowing the purpose behind it. At first, I struggled to see how it would all come together, but as the weeks went on, I could really notice the progress and understand the process more clearly.

I was diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of 8. I had shown early signs, and many of the men in my family had already been diagnosed too.

Throughout school, I learned ways to work around my reading and spelling difficulties. This affected both my learning and the career path I chose. If this type of treatment had been available to me when I was younger, I can only imagine the opportunities it may have opened up for me.

This treatment has given me the confidence to learn. Instead of constantly finding ways around reading and spelling, I now know that I can do it myself, as long as I take my time. What has surprised me the most is how much I have continued to progress even after the treatment ended. The biggest shock of all is that I have actually taken up reading as a hobby. Reading is where I have noticed the biggest difference. My spelling and writing are becoming stronger the more I read and practise.

At 33, this treatment has truly helped broaden my horizons and given me confidence in an area I never thought possible. I would highly recommend this treatment to anyone with dyslexia, especially younger people.

Thank you again for all your help and support.
